By accessing or using Certyco's website or services (the “Platform”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. What Certyco Is (and Is Not)
Certyco is a platform where Professionals receive structured, expert-led evaluations designed to produce actionable career feedback and verified hiring signal. Each evaluation is conducted by an independent Industry Expert and produces a 4D Scorecard, Certyco Mark, and written feedback that Hiring Partners may use to inform hiring decisions.
Certyco offers three services. Open Evaluation is the evaluation described above, booked by the Professional. Mentor Match is one-on-one mentoring with an Industry Expert, arranged by Certyco and governed by Section 6A. Evaluation on Demand is the same evaluation, arranged and paid for by an employer that sends the people it is considering for a role, and governed by Section 6B.
Certyco is not:
- –a job board (we do not require or host job postings)
- –a recruiter or staffing agency (under Evaluation on Demand, Certyco evaluates the people an employer supplies; it does not source, refer or place anyone)
- –an employer of Professionals or Industry Experts
- –a guarantor of outcomes (we do not guarantee interviews, jobs, offers, or hires)
Hiring decisions remain solely the responsibility of Hiring Partners.
3. Key Definitions
- Professional: a user who participates in structured evaluations conducted by Industry Experts.
- Industry Expert: an independent practitioner conducting evaluations on the Platform, or acting as a Mentor. Every Industry Expert is an independent contractor to Softassure Technologies Ltd., never an employee, agent or partner of Certyco or of any Professional.
- Mentor Match: the service under which Certyco matches a Professional with an Industry Expert for one-on-one mentoring sessions, in packages of two or three sessions, as described on the website and in Section 6A.
- Mentor: an Industry Expert delivering Mentor Match sessions.
- Evaluation on Demand (EOD): the service under which a Hiring Partner asks Certyco to evaluate named people it is considering for a role, pays for those evaluations, and receives each Professional's Evaluation Output, as described on the website and in Section 6B.
- Requesting Hiring Partner: the Hiring Partner that arranged and paid for a Professional's evaluation under Evaluation on Demand.
- EOD Notice: the written notice in Section 6B.1 that a Professional reads and accepts before scheduling an evaluation arranged under Evaluation on Demand.
- Session: one scheduled Mentor Match meeting of about one hour, held over video.
- Hiring Partner: an organization representative accessing verified Professional profiles.
- 4D Scorecard: Certyco's evaluation framework measuring Technical Skills, Domain Expertise, Platform Expertise, and Behavioral Skills.
- Evaluation Output: ratings, Certyco Marks (Mark I / Mark II / Mark III), 4D Scorecard results, and written evaluation feedback produced from the evaluation process.
- Certyco Mark: a verification tier awarded based on the overall evaluation score. Mark III is awarded for scores of 4.5 and above, Mark II for 4.0 and above, and Mark I for 3.5 and above. Scores below 3.5 complete the evaluation but no Mark is awarded. The Certyco Mark is not a professional certification, credential, license, or accreditation.
- Unlocking: the action by which a Hiring Partner gains access to a Professional's personal and contact details, subject to Certyco rules and Professional controls.
- Recording: audio/video capture of an evaluation or of a Mentor Match session, conducted only with explicit consent.
- AI Resume Import: the feature allowing users to upload a PDF or DOCX resume for AI parsing and profile population.
- Full Launch: the current platform phase in which all core features are available.
4. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to use the Platform.
Account Creation
You may create an account using email and password, or by signing in with Google, LinkedIn, or Microsoft through OAuth. By signing in via an OAuth provider, you acknowledge and accept the respective provider's terms of service and privacy policy.
Industry Experts and Hiring Partners are additionally required to verify a corporate email address after account creation. Email verification is required for account activation for all users.
Account Responsibilities
You agree to:
- –provide accurate, current information
- –maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials
- –notify us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
- –not create multiple accounts for the same individual
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, suspected fraud, or misuse.
5. User Responsibilities by Role
5.1 Professionals
Professionals agree to:
- –provide truthful information in profiles and materials
- –participate in evaluations and sessions professionally and in good faith
- –not misrepresent identity, work history, or skills
- –comply with consent requirements for evaluations, sessions and recordings (Section 6)
- –review and confirm the accuracy of all data imported via AI Resume Import before applying it to their profile
- –not upload fraudulent, falsified, or third-party resumes through AI Resume Import
5.2 Industry Experts
Industry Experts agree to:
- –evaluate fairly and independently
- –follow Certyco's evaluation framework and policies
- –avoid conflicts of interest and comply with integrity restrictions (Section 8)
- –not share Professional information outside the Platform except as permitted
- –verify their corporate email address during account setup
5.3 Hiring Partners
Hiring Partners agree to:
- –use Platform information for legitimate hiring-related purposes only
- –not discriminate unlawfully or misuse candidate information
- –not scrape, reverse engineer, or attempt to de-anonymize users
- –respect Professional controls, permissions, and consent requirements (including recording access)
- –verify their corporate email address during account setup
6. Evaluations, Recordings, and Consent
Recording applies to evaluations and to Mentor Match sessions alike.
6.1 Consent for Recording (Operational Consent)
If recording is enabled for an evaluation or a session, Professionals must provide consent:
- –during scheduling, and
- –again immediately before recording begins
If you do not consent, the evaluation or session may not proceed in recorded form, and Certyco may limit or prevent the evaluation process.
6.2 Consent for Sharing/Access (Distribution Consent)
Separately from recording consent, sharing recordings with Hiring Partners requires explicit, secondary consent from the Professional. For an evaluation arranged under Evaluation on Demand, that secondary consent, limited to the Requesting Hiring Partner, is collected through the EOD Notice (Section 6B.1) before the evaluation is scheduled.
6.3 Who Can Access Recordings
Unless Certyco states otherwise:
- –Professional: may access their recording (subject to Platform controls)
- –Industry Expert: may access an evaluation recording only for 24 hours after the evaluation for evaluation purposes; a Mentor may access session recordings for the duration of the Mentor Match engagement
- –Certyco Admins: may have access for operational integrity, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and quality control
- –Hiring Partners: access only with explicit, secondary Professional consent; for Evaluation on Demand, the Requesting Hiring Partner receives the recording under the EOD Notice
6.4 Retention and Deletion
Recordings do not automatically expire. Recordings are retained unless deleted based on a valid deletion request, legal obligation, or policy enforcement.
6.5 Effect of Revoking Consent
Revoking sharing consent affects future access and distribution. It does not retroactively invalidate:
- –completed evaluations
- –evaluation outputs already issued
- –quality control records maintained for integrity and compliance
6A. Mentor Match
Mentor Match gives a Professional one-on-one time with an Industry Expert who does the job today. Certyco matches the Professional to a Mentor based on the goal, resume and request the Professional submits. Sessions are arranged by email and held over video. The following terms apply in addition to the rest of these Terms.
6A.1 Nature of the Service
- –Sessions are advice and information drawn from the Mentor's own experience. They are not an evaluation: they produce no score, no Certyco Mark, nothing on your profile and nothing visible to Hiring Partners.
- –Certyco and the Mentor make no guarantee of employment, promotion, an evaluation score or any other outcome. How you act on the advice is your decision.
- –No employment, agency, partnership or fiduciary relationship arises between you and the Mentor, or between you and Certyco, by reason of Mentor Match.
- –Mentors are independent contractors to Softassure Technologies Ltd. Their views are their own and are not endorsed by their employers.
6A.2 Requests, Matching and Payment
- –You request a Mentor through the form on the website, or by email or LinkedIn. Submitting a request creates no obligation on either side until Certyco confirms a match.
- –Mentor Match is priced on the website and paid after Certyco confirms a match, before the first session, by card payment link, e-transfer or invoice. Nothing is owed before a match. Refunds and rescheduling are set out in the Purchase Policy.
- –Introductory prices are limited by quantity, apply at the time your match is confirmed, and may close without notice once the limit is reached.
6A.3 Sessions, Recordings and Scheduling
- –Sessions are recorded with your consent, given when the first session is booked. Recordings are private to you, your Mentor and Certyco. They are never shared with Hiring Partners and never affect any evaluation.
- –Certyco staff may review a session recording for quality, dispute handling or safety.
- –You may reschedule a session with at least 24 hours notice by email. A session missed without notice counts as delivered. If the Mentor cancels, the session is rescheduled or refunded as set out in the Purchase Policy.
- –What you share with your Mentor is treated as confidential by the Mentor and by Certyco, except where disclosure is required by law or to protect someone from harm.
6A.4 Deliverables
Session notes, development plans, trackers, templates and worked examples are prepared for your personal use and sent to you by email. You may keep and use them for your own career. The templates, formats and structure remain the property of Softassure Technologies Ltd. and may not be resold or published.
6B. Evaluation on Demand
Under Evaluation on Demand a Hiring Partner asks Certyco to evaluate named people it is considering for a role. The evaluation itself is the one described in Section 6: the same 90-minute format, the same 4D Scorecard, conducted by an independent Industry Expert matched to the role. What differs is who arranges it, who pays for it and who receives the result. These terms apply in addition to the rest of these Terms and to the service agreement between Certyco and the Requesting Hiring Partner.
Certyco records the Professional's acceptance of the EOD Notice before the evaluation is scheduled. The acceptance is the Professional's consent, under Sections 6.2 and 9, for their Evaluation Output and recording to be delivered to the Requesting Hiring Partner named to them.
6B.2 The Requesting Hiring Partner
- –You are responsible for having a lawful basis to send a person to Certyco for evaluation, and you warrant that you have told each person, before naming them to us, that you have asked Certyco to evaluate them and that you will receive the result.
- –Certyco acts as your service provider for the evaluations you arrange. We evaluate the people you name. We do not source, refer, shortlist, rank or place anyone, and we do not advise you on whom to hire.
- –Each person's Evaluation Output and recording are delivered to you and to that person, and to nobody else. The people you send are scored on the same scale and are never ranked or compared against each other by Certyco. Your copy of each result stays available to you, like any other result delivered on the Platform, subject to Section 6.5 and to the Professional's deletion rights.
- –You may use an Evaluation Output only for the hiring decision you stated when you arranged the evaluation. You may not forward, publish, resell or otherwise disclose it outside the people in your organization who need it for that decision, and you may not use it for any other purpose without the Professional's written consent.
- –Hiring decisions remain solely your own. An Evaluation Output is expert judgement that informs your decision; it is not a recommendation to hire or not to hire.
- –Fees are charged per evaluation, agreed by email before any session is scheduled, and paid by invoice under the service agreement. If Certyco cannot match a person with an Industry Expert within 3 business days of the request, the fee for that person is refunded or not invoiced. Rescheduling and cancellation follow the service agreement.
6B.3 The Professional
- –You take part only after reading and accepting the EOD Notice. Taking part is your choice, and declining has no effect on your Certyco account.
- –You create a Certyco account to schedule the evaluation, give recording consent and receive your result. You pay nothing for an evaluation arranged under Evaluation on Demand.
- –Your Evaluation Output and any Certyco Mark you earn are yours to keep and to use. They are held in your account under the same terms as an Open Evaluation, including Section 9: your anonymized scorecard can appear in Hiring Partner search while your “Available for work” switch is on, and you can turn it off at any time.
- –Section 6.5 applies: revoking sharing consent after the result has been delivered to the Requesting Hiring Partner affects future access and distribution, and does not recall the result already delivered.
7. AI Resume Import Terms
AI Resume Import allows Professionals and Industry Experts to upload a PDF or DOCX resume to pre-populate their profile.
7.1 How It Works
- –Your resume file is read in your browser using client-side libraries. The file itself is never uploaded to any server. The extracted text is sent to Certyco's servers for AI parsing and is discarded after processing.
- –Only the extracted text is sent to Certyco's backend, which forwards it to the Anthropic Claude API for structured parsing.
- –The AI returns structured data (experience, education, skills, certifications) which is stored temporarily in your browser session.
- –You review and approve each parsed section before anything is saved to your profile.
- –No resume files are stored on Certyco servers at any point. The extracted text is processed in memory and discarded after parsing.
7.2 Your Responsibilities
- –You are responsible for reviewing and confirming the accuracy of all AI-parsed data before applying it to your profile.
- –You must not upload resumes belonging to other individuals.
- –You must not upload fraudulent, falsified, or misleading documents.
7.3 Limitations
- –Certyco does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-parsed data. AI parsing is a best-effort service.
- –AI Resume Import extracts and maps existing resume data. It does not generate, fabricate, or suggest content.
- –Certyco is not responsible for errors in AI-parsed data that you approve and apply to your profile.
8. Conflicts of Interest and Integrity Controls
This section describes search and discovery functionality.
Certyco enforces integrity measures to preserve fairness:
- –Industry Experts cannot evaluate Professionals with whom they have a personal or professional relationship.
- –Industry Experts may decline evaluations involving current or recent employers, or organizations where a conflict of interest may exist.
- –Matching between Industry Experts and Professionals is based on role relevance, domain expertise, platform familiarity, and availability.
- –Industry Experts must act in good faith and follow any conflict disclosure or decline mechanisms available on the Platform.
Certyco may adjust these controls over time.
9. Profile Visibility, Unlocking, and Best-Effort Confidentiality
Your profile and evaluation results are visible to Hiring Partners only in anonymized form, and only while your “Available for work” switch is on. The switch is on when your account is created, and it is yours to turn off at any time.
Visibility is controlled through two sequential gates:
- –Your switch: the “Available for work” toggle on your dashboard controls whether Hiring Partners can find your anonymized scorecard in search. Search lists qualifying approved results; results without a Mark are shown only to Hiring Partners who choose to see them. The switch is on when your account is created. Turn it off at any time and you are removed from all Hiring Partner searches immediately; turn it back on whenever you choose.
- –Identity protection: While your switch is on, Hiring Partners see only anonymized evaluation data (scores, expert feedback, Mark tier). Your name, photo, email, phone number, and all other personal and contact details remain hidden until a Hiring Partner unlocks your profile.
Certyco shares your evaluation results with Hiring Partners only in the anonymized form above and only while your switch is on. Your name and contact details are shared only when a Hiring Partner unlocks your profile. Evaluation on Demand is the one case where a named Hiring Partner receives your full result, whatever the position of your switch: the Requesting Hiring Partner, as disclosed in the EOD Notice you accepted before scheduling (Section 6B).
However, you acknowledge that no system can guarantee perfect access isolation, and users may sometimes infer identity through contextual information or interactions within organizations. Certyco will take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access, but cannot guarantee that a user will never be identified indirectly.
10. Discreet Mode (Privacy Feature)
Discreet Mode is available for Professionals.
Certyco offers Discreet Mode, which allows:
- –Professionals to hide their profile from up to 2 specific companies
- –Industry Experts to hide their identity and details from Hiring Partners at the same employer
Discreet Mode is designed to prevent conflicts, protect careers, and preserve evaluation neutrality.
11. Fees, Payments, and Taxes
11.1 Paid Features
Certyco charges fees for certain services, including:
- –Professional evaluation fees
- –Hiring Partner profile unlocking (pay-per-connection)
- –Mentor Match packages (Section 6A)
- –Evaluation on Demand fees, charged per evaluation to the Requesting Hiring Partner (Section 6B)
- –Industry Expert compensation for completed evaluations and sessions
Payment processing for Professional evaluation purchases and Hiring Partner connection payments is handled by Stripe. Mentor Match is paid after a confirmed match by card payment link, e-transfer or invoice. Evaluation on Demand is quoted per person and paid by the Requesting Hiring Partner by invoice under its service agreement. Industry Expert payout transfers are processed via Wise Business bank transfer. Pricing is published on the website and confirmed at the point of purchase or match.
Introductory prices are limited by quantity rather than by date. They apply to purchases completed, or matches confirmed, while the offer is open, and may close without notice once the stated number is reached.
You agree that:
- –taxes may apply depending on your jurisdiction
- –payment processing is handled by third-party providers subject to their own terms
- –refunds (if any) will follow the Platform's stated refund and purchase policy at the time of purchase
12. Intellectual Property and Platform Content
All Platform software, design, branding, and underlying systems belong to Certyco or its licensors. You may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, exploit, or create derivative works of the Platform without written permission.
User-generated content (profiles, uploads, responses, etc.) remains owned by the user, but you grant Certyco a limited, non-exclusive license to host, display, process, and use it to operate the Platform and deliver services.
Data imported via AI Resume Import is user-generated content (imported from the user's own resume). The AI parsing provided by Certyco is a data processing service, not content generation. Certyco does not claim ownership of AI-parsed profile data.
Evaluation Content: Industry Experts assign all evaluation content (scores, written assessments, feedback, and supporting evidence) to Certyco upon submission. Industry Experts retain no intellectual property rights over evaluation content after submission. Professionals receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view and reference their own evaluation results. A Requesting Hiring Partner receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Evaluation Output of each person it sent under Evaluation on Demand, limited to the hiring decision stated when the evaluation was arranged (Section 6B). Certyco owns the evaluation methodology, scoring framework, 4D Scorecard, and Certyco Mark.
Third-Party Names: By submitting profile content that includes employer names, educational institution names, or other third-party organization names, you grant Certyco permission to display these names in the context of your profile and evaluation results on the Platform. Certyco does not claim any affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from these organizations.
13. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- –impersonate others or misrepresent credentials
- –submit false information, forged documents, or fraudulent claims
- –use AI tools to generate fraudulent or misleading profile content
- –upload third-party resumes through AI Resume Import
- –harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- –attempt to access non-public data or bypass security controls
- –scrape or automate collection of Platform data
- –abuse rate limits or use automated access methods
- –circumvent platform access restrictions
- –interfere with Platform performance or reliability
Violations may result in suspension, termination, or legal action.
14. Evaluation Disclaimers
Evaluation features are part of the platform.
Certyco evaluation outputs are informational signals based on structured evaluation processes. You acknowledge:
- –evaluations involve professional judgment and may not predict future job performance
- –Certyco does not guarantee employment outcomes
- –Hiring Partners remain fully responsible for their hiring decisions
- –Certyco is not liable for how Hiring Partners interpret or use evaluation outputs
- –each evaluation reflects one Industry Expert's professional opinion based on a single structured evaluation and should not be treated as a comprehensive assessment of a candidate's abilities
- –Certyco makes no representations about a candidate's overall suitability for any specific role, team, or organization
- –Mentor Match sessions and deliverables are advice drawn from one Mentor's experience; Certyco makes no representation that following them leads to any particular result
Evaluation Disputes
If you believe an evaluation contains inaccurate, unfair, or harmful content, you may submit a dispute by emailing support@certyco.com with your evaluation ID and a description of the specific claims you are disputing.
Upon receiving a dispute, Certyco will review the evaluation and may, at its discretion:
- –return the evaluation to the Industry Expert for revision
- –modify or remove specific content that does not meet Certyco's evaluation content guidelines
- –withdraw the evaluation entirely and issue a replacement credit for a new evaluation
- –determine that the evaluation meets Certyco's standards and decline the dispute with an explanation
Disputes related to scores alone (without claims of inaccuracy, unfairness, or harmful content) are not eligible for review. Evaluation scores reflect the Industry Expert's professional judgment based on the structured evaluation.
15. Platform Limitations
You acknowledge and agree that:
- –No guarantee is made regarding the availability of any specific feature or the uptime of the platform.
- –Certyco may add, modify, or remove features at any time with reasonable notice.
- –Data you enter on the platform (including profile data, banking details, and evaluation data) is retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
16. Third-Party Services & OAuth
16.1 Third-Party Services
The Platform uses third-party services for authentication, data storage, email delivery, hosting, analytics, and AI processing. Current third-party services include:
- –Supabase: authentication and data storage
- –Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft: OAuth social login
- –Resend: email delivery
- –Vercel: hosting and analytics
- –Anthropic Claude API: AI Resume Import parsing
- –Stripe: payment processing (Professional evaluations, Hiring Partner connections)
- –Wise Business: Industry Expert payout transfers
Certyco is not responsible for the availability, performance, or data practices of third-party services. Each third-party service operates under its own terms and privacy policy.
16.2 OAuth Acknowledgement
By signing in via Google, LinkedIn, or Microsoft, you acknowledge that:
- –your use of that provider's authentication service is subject to the provider's own terms of service and privacy policy
- –Certyco receives limited profile information (name, email, profile URL) from the OAuth provider
- –Certyco is not responsible for the OAuth provider's handling of your data
17. Termination
17.1 Termination by Certyco
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- –you violate these Terms
- –we detect fraud, abuse, or harmful behavior
- –we are required to do so by law
- –continued access risks Platform integrity or user safety
- –repeated rate limit violations indicate automated or abusive access
17.2 Voluntary Termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time.
17.3 Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing privacy@certyco.com. Upon receiving a valid deletion request, Certyco will deactivate your account and remove your personal data, subject to any legal retention obligations. See our Privacy Policy for details on data retention periods.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- –Certyco is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages
- –Certyco is not liable for lost profits, lost opportunities, or reputational harm arising from Platform usage
- –Certyco is not liable for third-party actions, including the actions of Professionals, Industry Experts, or Hiring Partners
If liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid to Certyco in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $100 USD if no payments were made). Subject to applicable local law.
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Certyco and its affiliates from claims arising out of your misuse of the Platform, violations of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.
19.1 Industry Expert Protection (Limited Indemnification)
Certyco will provide reasonable protection to Industry Experts for claims arising from evaluations performed in good faith, following Certyco's framework, and without misconduct or conflicts violations. This protection does not apply to fraud, abuse, intentional wrongdoing, or violations of Platform rules.
20. Dispute Resolution: Arbitration and Class Action Waiver
20.1 Mandatory Arbitration
Subject to applicable local law, any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be resolved through binding arbitration, not court. Where mandatory arbitration is prohibited by applicable law, disputes will be resolved in a competent court under the governing law specified in Section 21.
20.2 No Class Actions
You agree to bring claims only on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in class actions, class arbitrations, or representative actions, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
20.3 Arbitration Provider and Process
Arbitration will be administered by a recognized arbitration provider and conducted in a commercially reasonable manner. Certyco may publish additional arbitration process details as part of Platform policies.
21. Governing Law and Regional Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed as follows, based on your primary location:
- –Canada: Province of Ontario, and applicable federal laws of Canada
- –United States: State of Delaware (and applicable federal laws)
- –India: Laws of India
Subject to applicable local law. If arbitration is not permitted for a specific claim, that claim must be brought in a competent court under the governing law above.
Industry Experts Located in the United Kingdom or European Union
Industry Experts located in the United Kingdom or in a Member State of the European Union retain all non-waivable statutory rights under their local consumer-protection law and applicable employment law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to override those rights. The independent contractor relationship between Certyco and each Industry Expert is governed by the specific Industry Expert Independent Contractor Agreement signed by the parties.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the Platform and may be communicated via email where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised.
